I am suppose to be going to the King Tut exhibit on 9/29. Does anyone know of any direct buses or trains that go from Middletown, NY to Philadelphia???
Franklin Institute of Science.
You'll take Metro North from Middletown to the Secucus transfer. From there, you'll go to Penn Station in NYC. Once there, you can board NJ Transit or Amtrak.
I did this a few years ago. I recall that from Penn Station, I took NJ transit to Princeton Junction (perhaps) and changed there to a train in to Philly.
All in all, the trip was pretty simple and didn't cost me much. Since I had a monthly train ticket for the Port Jervis line -- which is Metro North but run by NJ Transit, my ticket was honored on other NJ Transit Lines. I only paid a bit for the override.
If you don't have a monthly ticket, you'll just buy tickets for each segment that you travel.
