I'm a Dymond. I live on Dymond road ( Named after my Grandfather Isaac Dymond) Sundown New York. That's "Dymond City" to all you townies. As I read all these posts I can see they come in two categories, first up townies who know nothing about my family except the rumors they hear. ( Boy do I have a great deal on a Bridge in Brooklyn for you people!) and then there is my family and friends who actually have been on Dymond road and know what they are talking about. I'm not going to bother trying to change your mind about my family I'm just going to give you some facts. First off most of us no longer live in "Dymond City". We live in Ellenville, We live in Napanoch, We live in Accord, We live in Kerhonkson, We live in Grahamsville , We live in Claryville, We live in Kingston. We live right next door to YOU! We have for decades. So the backwoods hillbilly is now your next door neighbor, Now what? I have a suggestion, stop being prejudice against people you have never met simply because you heard something about them from someone else who never met them.

I only ever heard saw what the OP posted, like Oniontown I never heard of it till this site. Where I come from we had the stories of the Jackson Whites in Hillburn and up in the mountains or Rockland/Orange counties.

I wasn't comparing anyone to Oniontown I was stating that the posters had gotten tired of that subject..

It would also appear that your relatives have decided to post their views also.

It is in between Grahamsville and Napanoch, up on top of the mountain. There are a lot of stories told about it. My ex-husband used to deliver propane up there. They could only go if they had a call for a delivery, and told them about what time they would be there. He could not drive the delivery truck in there, had to park at the end of a dirt road, and use a hand-truck to bring in 100lb tanks. Someone would escort him to where he was going and back out again. Family name of Diamond, is how it got its name. Kids went to school at Tri-Valley in Grahamsville. It's near the Rondout Reservoir.

Good lord, there are a lot of one-post wonders on this thread. I guess someone has dipped into the meth and is creating alter egos by the dozen.

This is a lie. The propane delivery man as well as everyone else comes and goes as they please. It's not a dirt road. It is paved and It is a half mile long so there is no way anyone is carrying propane tanks up those hills. Sorry but you are a liar. The truth is that no one would risk their live to deliver anything to anyone that would kill them. You are a idiot if you believe that. You people keep bringing up Oniontown. Well if you google Oniontown a long list of articles pop up on it but if you google Dymond City NOTHING COMES UP BECAUSE IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!
Show me hard evidence not hearsay or just shut the **** up!

Im not even offended anymore. Just completely amazed by peoples stupidity and ignorance. I grew up there. Lived there for 20 years. As a kid a lot of my influence came from the old generation. Guess what? Im a healthy, smart, NORMAL 22 year old. Ive heard the true stories and ive heard the false. The true ones arnt bad and show a strong family who loves each other no matter what. This ignorance just makes us stronger and honestly, hate humanity a little more.

Default diamond city

I grew up in the catskills and am from a little town called Claryville. Diamond city is really the town of sundown. It is near Ellenville. They called it Diamond city due to the large extended family who lived there and their last name was dymond. Some of the family worked for the highway department and were never a problem. I went to Tri-Valley with members of their family and like most had kin at all ends of the spectrum. Some of these posts are definately not accurate.

First off, these one post wonders are because I shared this b.s. post on my Facebook page. And second, maybe you should stay away from the meth. These are not alter egos, they are my family members. We are a large family, and will defend each other until the day we die. So, until you actually get to know the family ****!!!! Oh and for those of you claiming to have grown up down the road, and are still spelling it "diamond" figure it out........Dymond is the correct spelling. Have a wonderful day
