Andes is another one of those quaint little, artsy-fartsy towns in the Catskills along with Woodstock, Boiceville, Roxbury, Franklin and a few others. The whole town looked like it was being repaved and renovated so it seems to be on the economic upswing. I think I'll hit Boiceville on my next trip.
I came to a screeching halt when I saw this scene on Rt. 28 on the way to Andes. It had classic written all over it.

Which if so, in my opinion be really inappropriate.
Things like the take 1 leave 1 concept and attitude is what makes many communities around the country admirable and missed.
Including an article about a Mountain Lion sighting.
Personally like Bigfoot the Mountain Lion has moved on. Ol Bigfoot is in the Adirondacks and the Mountain Lions prefer the Poconos, too many Mercedes.
You would be surprised how big Bobcat tracks look in melted snow, and when they leap off a rock.
