Does anyone have any recommendations for a good local company that does oil boiler (weil-mcclain) annual service in the Hudson Vally area? I know there's lots of them that do the service but I have had mixed results with quality of service picking one out of phone book.
Normally you would use the company who you buy your oil from, unless they are a no thrills just oil no service company.
Do you do the maintenance the the owner should do? check water level, run water through the auto fill if you have one, replace any leaking steam vents if it's a steam system?
Never run the tank empty if possible and always wait about an hour after deliveries before starting a heat cycle so you don't suck up tank sediment.
As for a referral sorry I don't know any one in the area but you know for the $15 registration fee at Angie's list it may be worth it.
I am very mechanical and normally do all my own work, I decided to let a HVAC company do some work and they totally installed the wrong parts.
