The way things are going around here, I think it will pass this time. what's next?

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) -- State lawmakers have reintroduced a bill on prostitution in the senate after it failed to make it out of committee last year.

The law would make it legal to both buy and sell sex in most cases.

Sex workers argue the laws currently in place only punish them and do not impact the people who use their services.

If passed, New York would become the first state to decriminalize sex work. Right now, Nevada is the only state where prostitution is legal, though not statewide.

pimps should always be prosecuted hard. Sure go ahead and leave the hookers alone but slam the lowlifes that abuse them

The one positive about this is that the quality of the prostitute will be better. No more toothless crack heads walking the streets looking to perform for their next fix. There are plenty of lonely people out there that would take advantage of these services if they were legal. More money pumped into the economy and more money for Cuomo and de Blasio to waste.

Prostitution has been legal in Nevada for over a hundred years. Not every county, though, allows legal brothels. Most brothels are located far outside a city, but Ely Nevada's brothels were located right in the city but on a side street. There were 4 at one time but now only 1 survives and it's turned into an Asian massage parlor.

No thanks. It’ll be STD galore out there.

I'm sure that's already the case.

What about Instagram Girls? Men apparently send money to young women, just for slutting it up on Instagram. Prostitution without physical sex.

There are the mistresses for the elite.

The women who only date men for free dinners: https://nypost.com/2019/06/21/a-thir...ee-food-study/

Craigslist was famous for the prostitutes who found men through the dating forums. I'm sure that's true of many online dating sites.

Hope it gets passed. It's one of the reasons cops abuses sex workers for favors in order to not arrest them.

I have mixed feeling about this. On one hand, I understand that legalization will reduce exploitation, improve public health through regulation and hopefully reduce the number of people in the court system.

On the other I don't want young people to start selling themselves through Instagram to buy a new iPhone.
