I am moving to Hyde Park, NY to (finally!) settle down some.My fiance started working in Poughkeepsie, and he is recommending (more like pressuring) that I should start looking for a job in the surrounding area. I have no idea what the job market is like out there, and here are my concerns:
Lived in CA until Oct, moved to AZ where family is to save money to move to NY.
- My resume will have my previous job in CA, but the address on my resume will be in AZ.
- I am still 2.5 months out from moving to NY, and cannot afford to fly out for interviews until the move.
Because of the reasons stated above, I do not want to seem flaky to potential employers because of how my current resume looks, and the fact I won't be able to work anywhere for almost three months.
Please help! What do you think I should do? Apply for jobs now, wait closer to the move, or wait until after I move? Any resume tweaking suggestions so I do not appear flaky?
