Hi all

I will be moving from Illinois to NY around July. (Job)

I have a young girl and a baby on the way. Schools & safety are important to me, as well as having a short commute.

I will be working at an address in Ballard rd.

I've been looking for information regarding middletown and cities nearby, Pinebush, Goshen, Chester, Florida, etc. I even considered Milford in PA (but the commute would be horrendous I believe, and far from everything). My goal is not to go over 30 min commute, and be in a safe area with good schools and close to pharmacies, hospitals, etc. Not in the boonies. Where are the best schools? Any info regarding private schools also welcome.

Good communities, places to stay away from, etc.

Thanks

I believe that there are areas of the Pine Bush SD(Scotchtown and Circleville) that is close to shopping near Middletown, but hopefully one of the other posters will chime in.

So you will be working in Middletown?
Maybe you should look at the Woodbury/Monroe area.

It appears that Scotchtown would put you very close to your place of employment too.

Scotchtown, Circleville and Pinebush are topping the list. Second place I have Goshen, Florida.

I was told to stay away from Monroe due to annexations by people from KJ. Apparently Kiryas Joel is an issue in the area.

Thanks

Something to keep in mind it seems with the Scotchtown area, which is mostly within the Pine Bush school district is that it appears that a small part of that area may be in the Goshen school district. I'm not saying that as a bad thing, but that being in a specific community may have different school districts within it. Here is an example of what I'm talking about and look at the schools it mentions serving this area: Census Tract 011102 in Orange County, New York
