This was a major railroad classification yard operated by the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad in Maybrook village. Several railroads interchanged there. By the mid-1970s, however, a series of railroad mergers, bankruptcies, and the burning of the Poughkeepsie Bridge (now part of a trail) led to its abandonment.
