Rockland county commute to Harlem (Spring Valley, Nanuet: buses, authority, trains)

Does anyone know if commuting from Rockland co. to harlem would be a viable option? Or would that be a terrible commute?

Any commute to the city is challenging, what method of travel are you looking at?

Not sure.. Possibly an express bus to manhattan or ferry to metro north which would go right to harlem? Are there any other options aside driving?

Depends where in Rockland you are, Metro North trains are available at Nanuet, Pearl River, Spring Valley and Suffern. Buses to both Port Authority and the bus terminal at the GW Bridge (I forget the name). Just look at the transits web sites and figure it out. I would allow an hour each way unless you are considering Orangeburg area which is closer, good luck.
