Rochester's educational attainment is a little bit higher for those 25 and older with at least a Bachelor's degree. Last call is later in Buffalo.

Many Canadians can be seen out and about in Buffalo, adding to the traffic, sales, etc. Not as much in Rochester.

I just looked at a map and I think I figured it out.

I also understand that Buffalo is the American headquarters location for about 400 Canadian companies.

Traffic for both is good (compared to other "large" cities). Rush hour congestion really is only an hour or so and only on major thoroughfares.

Snow removal is highly dependent on the individual municipality. It is generally good on the NYS Thruway as well. The NYS Thruway gets absolutely hammered with Lake Effect snow, so it occasionally gets closed down to a crawl.
