Hi, I am moving to the Binghamton University area. I was trying to find an apartment for a family--at least a 3 bedroom-- in a nice and safe neighborhood. I dont find any online when I search!

Can anyone suggest any?
Thanks

3 bedroom apartments in the Bingo area are hard to find. I see only one "twin" 3 bedroom house for rent in Endwell (just across the river from Binghamton U.) for $1200 per month. That listing was advertised in the local newspaper, the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin. I would suggest calling some real estate offices to see if they have any house rentals available. You could also place an ad in this newspaper under the heading, "wanted to rent." See below.

Thanks for the quick update Wells.
In that case even a two bedroom but with 2 bath will be good. I dont even find that. The best I can find is 1.5 bath.
Any suggestions for 2 bed two bath?
Thanks

There are quite a few apartment complexes in the Bingo area. Some may not be to your liking but phone the individual rental offices to see if any 3 bedroom or 2 bedroom 2 bath apartments will be available in the next few weeks or months. People moving on May 31 usually must give 2 months notice of moving out so April 1st will be a good time to check. See below.

Binghamton University also lists off campus housing for graduate students. See below.

Just to throw it out there, but this complex in nearby Endicott may be worth a look: Floorplans

Here's another complex in Vestal, which is where Binghamton University is located: The Meadows Apartments - Burstyn Group

This may help in terms of 3 bedroom rentals in the area: https://binghamton.craigslist.org/se...uery=3+bedroom

Here's another source that may offer some help: https://www.walkscore.com/apartments.../NY/Binghamton

OP, would you be open to a home rental, as there appears to be some that would fit what you are looking for?

Thank you. Before renting a home, I would like to look at them. I will be unable to travel there now. So I would like to rent an apartment for now, and then after the move I plan to consider all options.
Thank you so much for finding these for me.

Just in case, this list may offer some possibilities: RealtyUSA - Property - Property-List

It's near downtown Bingo. When I'm in the area I often stay at the Day's Inn, which is also on Front St., a bit north of the River House. It's a mixed area but I never encountered trouble or danger walking around when I was staying there. It's very close to the Vestal Parkway, which will whisk you right to Bingo U. The building has commercial tenants in addition to apartments so the parking lot is busy.

I don't think that they will rent you an apartment without your being there in person.

Generally speaking in that area of Binghamton: Riverside Dr = Nice single family homes. North of Main St = Unpleasant. Between Riverside and Main is a transition from single family to 2-3 family, then to larger apartment buildings, with quality declining as you go north.

So yes, you're in a safe area. Just be advised the quality of the area changes dramatically in a 10 minute walk from mansions to things barely avoiding condemnation.

The building itself is fine. The particular block it's located on is somewhat awkward as you won't really have residential neighbors. It's offices/doctors, a museum, some college student houses, and the old nursing home that's going to be torn down soon.
