I am trying to find some land not in town but out of the way.can anyone suggest some good places and maybe tell me a little about it.
We will be building a cabin and looking for a couple acre.
Well basically somewhere secluded we will be using solar panels and digging well we plan on using composting toilet. 2 to 5 acres should be plenty in case my oldest decides to join us. We don't need to be close to town as we will be retired.
I guess a hour away from a town would be the farthest away we would be comfortable.
Not sure what else to include.
Naples or parts of Bristol sound like they might be perfect for you. Only about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Canandaigua and about 40 minutes up to Rochester.
I agree that the Naples area is very good for a secluded cabin and from there keep going west through Honeoye Lake, Canadice Lake, Hemlock Lake, and maybe to Conesus Lake. That whole area is ideal cabin country... rugged, beautiful, densely wooded, and affordable. I'd recommend using Zillow for searching properties.
