An affordable and safe location to move and drive to NY (New York: apartments, safe area)

My Partner & I want to move out of NYC but we both work in NY. I've always live in Bronx, NY. My partner is a taxi driver I work at an investment firm. We want to move to an affordable and safe area (pref apartments) we were looking at Union city but not too much options. Any area in NY that you guys recommend? We will commuting in a car.

West New York, North Bergen, Fort Lee are more affordable.

Palisades Park, Cliffside Park, and Weehawken are less affordable but a lil nicer

Perhaps you could look into parts of White Plains or New Rochelle as well.
