Thanks for the links. Initially I was aiming to be in downtown just for convenience of activities, nightlife, etc.
I've broadened my search to the suburbs, like liverpool, camilus, etc. So i'll see where that leads me if I don't get one of the apartments i want in downtown.
The apartments you linked me to look great and I would've jumped on it immediately but I guess it's no longer available. .
I looked in Fayette place right before i flew back to California last friday. I like the building/unit but I was realllllllly hoping for a place with my own washer & dryer. I really hate using a community washer & dryer...just from bad experiences in the past, etc.
Thanks for all your help, i really do appreciate it!
No problem and just check the previous posts that have apartment guides as a reference for the type of apartment you would be interested in.
Maybe you all could help with a rental application question...
On the application it asks for "gross annual income". Now, the way my job pay is structured is, you have a base salary + bonus. So when I answer that question, do I just put the "base salary". or do i put the total of my base + the bonus?
Or do I just write it separately, like "base = $XXX + Bonus =$XXX?
I just don't want 2 numbers to come up when they contact my employer and ask for verification. I don't want it to look like i'm lying about numbers.
Also, when applying for apartments, should i apply for the multiple apartments that I want, and then depending on which ones i get approved for, i just move forward with the one i want? or should i apply one at a time?

I'd say to put what you know about your salary and apply to the apartments that appeal to you. Hopefully others will chime in.
