I was chosen for the lottery and I have my interview within the next week or so. I'm gathering all of my documents and I must say that I am a tad bit nervous about everything. I am young and don't have much things established yet because I have been living with my mom. Like I just filed taxes for the first time this month and I don't have my tax documents from last year because I was claimed by my mother. In addition, my mother basically has all the bills in her name although I pay her at most 400/month to help out. I just want to know if anyone else had this issue and was this a negative factor in being ultimately chosen for an apartment?

When I got called for an interview and was living at home with my mom and paying rent. I had to show Bank statements, tax returns, the rent receipts. My moms lease. I had to have my mom write a letter stating how much I pay to her. But I also coresponded with the person that contacted about the interview and asked her specific questions on what I needed to bring and my scenario. That's what you should do so you'll know exactly what you need to bring in. It gets frustrating and you will be deterred but do t give up. Stay strong, gather all docs you need and call and ask the person who contacted you whatever questions you need to. Good luck
