I am looking for someplace in upstate NY (or NJ or PA) with an outdoor community pool that my two young children (6 y.o.) and I can safely reach by foot or by bike. Someplace with a local, community day camp in the same walkable/bikeable location would be ideal.

I would be coming up from Westchester, but the plan would be to stay for the summer, so distance from home is not too much of an issue.

The village of Rhinebeck might work - although there's no sidewalk from the edge of the village to the town pool, the shoulder of the road is pretty wide and the distance is not long.
New Paltz would be another option - and I think their pool is in the center of the town, so sidewalk accessible.
Child Care - Derry Township
The pool and the schools are all in the same super-block.
Not as sure about summertime rentals in the relatively nearby walkable blocks but it might be possible.
