Salvage grocery in the Hudson Valley? (Syracuse, Middletown: shops, discount, tree)

Hey everyone,

I just recently moved back to NY from Grand Rapids, MI and I got very attached to the handful of salvage/deep discount grocery stores that were in the area. The kind of places that sell things at or near their expiration, overstock from other grocery stores, etc.

I'm having trouble finding anything similar in the Hudson Valley area. I'm in Orange county (New Windsor) so the closer the better but if anyone knows of anything in Rockland, Dutchess, Westchester, Ulster or Putnam that would be fine too.

The only ones I have found on lists are in the Finger Lakes region...

Ollie's Bargain Outlet in Middletown. There are also Aldis and Save a Lots in the HV.

Other than Ollie's, Ocean State Job Lot and Christmas Tree Shops are the closest things to salvage grocery in the area that I'm aware of.

Do you have a link to these lists? I'm interested in what stores are in the Finger Lakes.

Pretty sure this was the one I was looking at.

These are the two NY locations they have listed:

Seneca Falls
Glenwood Foods, 2905 Rt-318, Ph 315-568-2050

Syracuse
Buda’s Meats & Produce Inc, 2100 Park St., Ph 315-476-0740

The list doesn't look super up to date because the Michigan ones I know of are not even on there but might be worth checking out if you're in the area.
