I am looking at a property in Smallwood NY. Older cottage, with a big stone fireplace. Everything I've been looking for.--
----- now here comes the catch. The lady said "it has been used in the past, for year round living". It has a drilled well ( not town water ) and a septic tank. I have read that septics in this area can pose a problem, because of the small size of the lots. I have also noticed there seems to be an unusually high percentage of homes for sale in Smallwood. Can anyone fill me in on what is wrong with this idyllic picture?
