So people have moved out because of the high tax rate in NY. What do you do now mr Cuomo? Can't raise taxes, that just brings a lower net tax. Lowering taxes and regulations will work, but it will probably take 10 years for things to work themselves through and have a higher net tax collection. But what is best. Will you make a decision as an adult, or a politician?

High taxes and excessive regulations are practically a religion for Cuomo and NYS state "leadership". Having any of them turn on their "faith" is as unlikely as...well, not get into specific examples that might result in triggering. Things won't turn around until NYS voters toss the pathetic excuse for leadership. Until then, the loss of businesses and contributing members of society that has been going on for decades...will continue. So relieved to have bailed 25 years ago.

I envy you, we bailed out 9 years ago for the great State of Arizona. We would have done it sooner but my wife just didn't want to leave all of our family, friends and everything we were familiar with to move 2474 miles away to a state where we knew absolutely no one. Myself? Except for family and friends, I just about hated every aspect of living in the socialist welfare State of New York. What's even more amazing is that we have all of the same wonderful services that New Yorker's love to brag about in order to justify the astronomical costs of living there.

After 9 years of living in Arizona both my wife and I have absolutely no desire to ever go back, not even to visit. There is nothing like the taste of freedom from the arrogance of Cuomo, his cronies and all of those who keep on electing both the likes of them and the New York State legislature. New York State is a lost cause, that's long past the tipping point of which the "takers" now outnumber the "makers". The fact that New York's legislature has been named one of, if not thee most corrupt in the nation doesn't help matters. A legislature that is owned lock, stock and barrel by the public employees' and teachers' unions. A legislature that is at their beck and call. Hopefully their corrupt little fiefdom will come to a crashing end. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting. I just don't get it? When will the people who elect these criminals ever going to wake up? When people such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can get elected, you know that state is finished.

My only hope is that when people from New York move out, they don't bring their New York values with them. It's just such a blessing to be away from all that.

Same here, I don't need NYers and their negativity, arrogance, etc., rubbing off on me or my family.

It's not a $2.3B shortfall, NY simply spends too much for votes.

The loss of income tax revenues to other states is telling, I knew it was bad, but until recent years most of the people leaving NY were middle income folks. Now the higher-income and rich are leaving.

No no no .... Cuomo said everyone is leaving because of the weather .
Serious though I moved away to the south 2 years ago. Nothing is perfect, but here I feel like I’m treated like a human being rather then an ATM for Cuomo and his cronies. I feel like I got over on this jerk for having the strength to pack up my family & leave ( it’s not an easy decision but we’ll worth it. )

Just don’t move to a conservative area and vote democrat so you can turn your new area into a cesspool like NY

Seems pretty small compared to the $800 billion 2018 US deficit the party in control racked up.

New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles are purging the middle and upper class. What will be left? The lower class and the poor who can't relocate. What will this create? Sky high unemployment, major deficits, and tax increases which will accelerate the decay. Frightening times coming for the United States major metros.
