Dear All

I am moving to my North American headquarter from Singapore. My office is in Bridgewater . Young couple.

I have always lived in downtown in most of the countries where I worked ( Young happening lifestyle, good social life ) and I would like to do the same when I move to US .

Can you please suggest places to live as per my criteria defined above, Can I live in Manhattan and travel to work daily ? , what will be my options , time , costs etc. My dream is to live in Manhattan and we are a young couple so a big country township hones is not our priority .

Any second options in NJ if NYC dwelling plan seems insane.

Looking froward to your answers ,

Thanks a bunch in advance

It’s a little bit of a hike to do that commute especially depending on where in Manhattan you choose to live. Not to mention you will have to pay a tunnel toll every day, additional state income tax to NY state, and NYC resident income tax, plus your rent and everything else will be more expensive. Oh, and parking for your car, too. Really bad deal...if you work in NJ, you should live in NJ. If city living and access to Manhattan is a must, then I strongly recommend downtown Jersey City. It’s cool in its own right, is just a PATH ride to Midtown or the Financial District, is more affordable, and will make your life a lot easier.
