What are some of the greenest suburbs in Upstate NY (ex. NYC MSA)? Suburbs that have strong tree canopies and preserve the natural look. Basically, what are some upstate suburbs that look like these:

There are likely quite a few, but off the top of my head, parts of the village of North Syracuse comes to mind: https://goo.gl/maps/Vu57chfSCJqq4L7p6

Liverpool(village): https://goo.gl/maps/tmGe9A5kHNz46DTZ6

East Syracuse(village): https://goo.gl/maps/2X6UWEQrvQTS1nzw5

Old Niskayuna section of Niskayuna: https://goo.gl/maps/rFYn4gncbQi9LkMZ9

Thanks for the examples. Orchard Park looks like it has a pretty robust program for greenery. It's website mentions a tree planing program>>

Tree Planting Program

Each year the Town Forestry Department plants between 50 and 75 two-inch diameter trees in the Town right-of-way in the front of new built homes. Depending on the number of existing trees on the property, residents may be eligible for a tree. Eligible residents are entitled to one tree. Call the Highway Department with your request. The Town Forester is available to answer any questions residents may have regarding trees on Town or private property.
The town also has a tree conservancy committee and a trail committee

https://www.orchardparkny.org/commit...ls-task-force/

Although, in practice, Orchard Park also looks to have a lot of the sunbelt type developments with very limited tree cover:

https://www.google.com/maps/@42.8005...7i13312!8i6656

The developments will get bigger trees as time goes on. But, they seem unlikely to ever have the "city in a forest" type tree canopies.

The Syracuse area locations are located in village which seem to have more of the traditional street tree programs. http://northsyracuseny.org/downloads...etestreets.pdf

If you are looking to avoid newer home developments, Eggertsville/Snyder in Amherst definitely are closer to your description:

Those are some nice suburbs in Amherst. Those early suburbs look like traditional neighborhoods with streetlights, sidewalks and street trees. It would be nice to more suburbs follow that model.
