the illegals they are letting in.

1. America loves cheap labor. This is why we had slaves.

2. You're far from the southern population centers and NYC.
3. You don't have high speed rail service to the south.
4. There is no incentive to be up there.
5. We don't have sophisticated robots to replace humans yet.
6. The US also does not value trades in the last 2 decades.

you're like upstate poconos

^Nah...This doesn’t make sense. Much of the Adirondack region/park area is privately owned and you may get interest just from marketing the region appropriately. This is an example in regards to the Plattsburgh area: https://www.goadirondack.com/

Don’t mess with it.
It’s fine the way it is. Don’t need ADK becoming the next Hamptons or whatever being over run by cidiots and elites. They can keep Saratoga but that’s it.
Everyone wants “progress” and a boosted economy.
Only thing is, residents really see no benefit. Elites and big business come in and actually end up driving the COL up. They are all in bed with the politicians. Only benefit would be adding a bunch of low pay service industry jobs. Which brings you back to square 1 but with higher property taxes and such. No thanks. Trust me, been there, bailed out.

...then what are you guys complaining about then?

You're basically the poconos.

Be content with what you have. The 50s are never coming back.

^ Who is “complaining”? There isn’t just one way to get younger people to that area of the state and I don’t know if just getting illegal immigrants is going to cut it. Some immigrants have cut through the area to get to Canada. https://www.adirondackdailyenterpris...many-migrants/

https://www.adirondackdailyenterpris...n-system-safe/

Again, it is a bit different from the Poconos, which is smaller and actually gets people from NYC to move there.

With the Adirondacks, it may be a matter of retaining the young people there and getting others via marketing.
