Interesting…So, why would they assume certain people are criminals based on race? Especially given that it would be a relative minority of any racial group. Wouldn’t that be discrimination or at least set the company up for lawsuits?
I also think this may be a matter of trying to help reduce recidivism, which reduces taxpayer money into incarceration and to give a fresh start to those that are rehabilitated or repent from a prior stage of life. If said people are employed, they also contribute to the tax rolls.

You can legislate, deny, or litigate but people will always discriminate based on perception and real world data. Until the narrative changes.
