How about they just leave everyone the fork alone?
That makes even more sense.
Statements like that overlook one BIG thing. The gas tax supposedly, and I say somewhat with "tongue in cheek", that the gasoline tax is supposed to be put toward the maintenance of roads, to counteract the wear and tear caused by the cars and trucks. EV will still cause wear and tear, but if they don't pay a similar tax, how is that fair?

Right, which is why I think moving to GWVR and miles for all vehicles probably makes more sense. If they want to keep the gas tax, sure, but then move that to funding environmental remediation instead.
Right. Who do you expect to then bear the burden of building and maintaining roads? How do you propose those expenses get paid for?
Use the tax money we already pay. We are triple dipped for the sole reason of paying for salaries, benefits, and “programs”. Remember tolls? The original plan with tolls?
Yeah. We’re being raped. Government needs to back off.
Your numbers on China are what the Chinese Communist Party want you to believe. They want to pay lip service to renewables, and try to force other countries, like ours, to use them (hamstringing our economy) while they build coal plants as fast as they can.

Oh that's right, I forgot that India, Egypt, the UAE, Vietnam, Spain, the UK, the US and a host of other countries that have ramped up the total amount of electricity and proportion generated from renewable sources and are signing record low PPAs because that's what the Chinese Communist Party wants me to believe. It can't possibly be because technology changes or that economies of scale actually happen. Maybe electricity doesn't even exist and is a figment of the CCP's imagination. Wow!

You failed math, right?
There's not enough revenue in the system now to properly build and maintain the infrastructure but you want to eliminate some of that revenue and improve things. Genius plan!

Right! Stop squandering money on things like maintaining roads and bridges, defund the police, stop education spending, eliminate fire departments and emergency medical services. Anything else? Anarchy comes cheap - government, not so much.
