Governor Kathy Hochul in an effort to reform New York’s Parole System has passed a bill that focuses on changing the technical violations that lead to reincarceration for parole violations.

Hochul and her colleagues believe this will lead to safer streets.

Such incompetence. Why. Why why why do we continue to vote for these scumbags.
I know Hochul is the exception, but she’ll probably win re-election. Just because.
It’s like these people are PURPOSELY trying to ruin this state, and this country.

It sounds like the bill is needed. We have far too many people locked up who shouldn't be. Heck, we have far too many people locked up, period.

I have mixed feelings about it. I know parole is a slippery slope that can be used as much against a convict as it can be used to benefit a convict.

At a time when crime, especially violent crime, is high it seems like it could be the wrong move.

This is not to say I am against it, what it says is Im not sure.

To read it, it sounds reasonable.

But Im not clear on what type of criminals are held in Riker's. Are they just jail birds or are they the type that will use their freedom to enrich a predator mindset?
