A sixth wave is apparently here. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m just really sick and tired of this already. Wave after wave and it never ends! I’m at the point where I feel like I shouldn’t really care or worry about this anymore. It’s just too much!

Your head is in the right place- just stop reading about covid and you'll see that it actually doesn't impact your life unless you let it.

The thing I’m scratching my head about is that according the ny.gov, cases are about 9%, just a minor tick up from a couple of weeks ago. Not sure where that article is getting 15%. Seems like the media might be exaggerating numbers.

Sixth wave? Here in Quebec, it's the 7th wave. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montr...leau-1.6513061

Quote:
A little more than a week after telling Quebecers it was too soon to say if a seventh wave of COVID-19 had begun in the province, the continued surge in cases and hospitalizations since then has changed the mind of the province's public health director.

"For me, it's a seventh wave," said Dr. Luc Boileau. "It's a surge that's taking the shape of a wave," acknowledging his claim still needs to be confirmed by Quebec's public health institute (INSPQ).

This wave is the province's first since the removal of virtually all public health restrictions, including mandatory masking on public transit.

It's because the Quebecois are heavily influenced by the French, who have a slightly different counting system than the British who influenced the US.

For instance, in France, the entry level floor of a building is known as the rez-de-chausée while Anglophones refer to it as the "First" Floor. And, subsequently, the level above that one is known as the "First Floor" in French speaking systems but is the "Second Floor" in English speaking ones.

Hence the disparity in the numbering of the waves between English-speaking NY and French-speaking Quebec

Just checked that link today and NY state Covid positivity rates have ticked down to 8% now.

So again, I’m not understanding the panic. I’m starting to have a lingering suspicion that the media is now just making crap up!

Probably paid by the Chinese directly or through a third party to do this fearmongering.

Stop looking at cases and look at deaths/hospitalizations.

You will notice that the experts say that it "may" be more deadly than previous variants, but they won't say it "is".

Fearmongering.
