I don't know who I'm more frustrated with, the media that instead of reporting factual news, puts their own special twist on things, or the people who get their info from just one point of view.
The problem is, people want things the easy way. Trump is very strict and firm with a lot of things, but he does so because it's for the good of the country. Biden gives people free handouts and people are enticed by that. People don't want to educate themselves and understand that free handouts are bad for the economy. People vote for the candidate that will benefit them, not the country.

You're so right. Just like working out and exercise. Putting in the effort and the time to improve yourself and make yourself more valuable to employers, or even your own business.

I'll go and get myself in trouble for saying this, but the only way black people are going to get ahead in this world is to do it themselves. BTW, this isn't just intended towards blacks, but it somehow waiting around for reparations hasn't worked out that well, but neither would GETTING reparations

How did this come into play in a thread about COVID restrictions being lifted by the governor? Sounds like a low key bait response, as it doesn’t have anything to do with the thread. Same can go for the previous post.

Not really. It's more of an extension of the point that Government tries to "fix" things, and manages to do more harm than good. Anyone with reasonable intelligence SHOULD see through the roll back of the Covid restrictions, at this point it time, as the "vote bait" that it is, but many won't.

Again, at the risk of causing controversy, remember what Lyndon Johnson said about welfare programs, back in the 60s. He said that by instituting these programs, he'd have the black citizens voting Democrat for decades to come.....or something like that. It was simply "vote bait", and it appears to have worked.

So yes, if you look at the "big picture", it does tie in, since it demonstrates the manipulation of the voters that the liberals engage in, which is the point of the topic.

In terms of the first part, that can and does go both ways whether having restrictions or not.

Second, the change came under FDR not Johnson during the new Deal era.

Manipulation doesn't come from just one side and if you believe that, then you aren't paying attention.

Again, what did black people/reparations and Trump have to do with the actual topic was the point of my post.
