We just stayed at Surfside on the lake( LakeGeorge.com Business Listing - Surfside On The Lake (http://www.lakegeorge.com/ShowLink.cfm?BusinessID=818 - broken link) ) for three days the other week and had a blast. Great rooms and well worth what we paid. Lake George village was a 5 minute walk away, it sort of reminds us of Myrtle Beach.

Go online to lakegeorge.com, you'll find most hotels have a web site....Good luck

Try the Bolton Landing area, it is a little further north than the town of Lake George, but on the lake. Nice hotels and cute town. For REALLY nice hotel try the Sagamore. They have a great public beach if you decide to rent a house not on the water.

It is higher-end than the town of Lake George.
