Keep in mind that some districts, urban and suburban, have multiple high schools as well.

"A total of 13 school districts in New York had 100% graduation rates in 2022, tying them for the No. 1 ranking in the state.

Most of the districts with 100% graduation rates were small. Eleven of them had graduating classes of fewer than 30 students, according to data from the New York State Education Department.

The closest district in the 100% group to Syracuse was Sackets Harbor in Jefferson County, which had a graduating class of 24 last year.

The state released graduation rate data for 2022 earlier in February. The graduation rate statewide was 87% last year, up from 86% the year before."

Kind of sad with all the school taxes we pay Kenmore Tonawanda ranks near the bottom at 493 with a graduation rate of 85%. Not much difference with Buffalo ranking 500 with a 79% graduation rate. NY used to have a great educational system and let it go to h*ll

Actually, the graduation rate has increased with an asterisk(I've literally posted a radio show on Saturdays that talked about how the percentage increased for BPS) and was increasing before COVID. Keep in mind that while there is room for improvement, 85% is actually just 2% below the state percentage.

Also keep in mind that kids no longer learn the fundamentals like we did. When it comes to history math and science - so much has been banned deleted purged ect that they know very little compared to those of us graduating in the 70's/80's. We should have a 95+ rank with how little they actually need to know to graduate.

Yes and no in terms of things like they don’t teach Phonics anymore and they why they teach Math is a bit odd, but a subject like History has always been limited in it approach.

There is also the aspect of COVID interrupting learning the past couple of years. So, for instance, some districts have dealt with students not having access to Wi-Fi, maybe not having proper oversight in regards to doing work, etc. So, that is why I mentioned that some of the rates should have an asterisk, as there is also a college/career readiness measurement for schools as well. So, I’m curious to see that as well.
