I am in the process of looking for a high school math position (thankfully an at need area) and a New York State certificate is essential!!! Even though Michigan is a reciprocal state (as is my state of GA), schools will not even consider you without a NYS cert.

Rochester's a beautiful city, I highly recommend it. as far as schools go, honeoye falls-lima, webster, and pittsford are the best. I've lived in Buffalo and Rochester and i like Rochester much more. It also seems that Rochester has more going for it in the long run.
