Has anyone navigated housing applications with a self-employed status, particularly when tax deductions significantly lower your reported income? I was contacted by the Apartment's Management and looking to understand how best to present my financial situation. My tax returns, due to standard business deductions, don't fully showcase my financial stability. However, my statements and assets illustrate a better financial health as well as my credit history and rent payment history.
Any advice on how this might impact my application or tips on addressing it with the application?
