Buffalo and Rochester are pretty much in the center of the path and Syracuse and Plattsburgh are both within it. What are your plans for this? Anyone going to a particular location or event they recommend?

I've got my plans, but I would recommend Hamlin Beach State Park for viewing. A large area, and I believe it's still free to get in.

There are a lot of places along Lake Ontario, the Thousand islands and Adirondacks that are expecting for crowds and to capitalize off of the visitors coming to view the eclipse.

Brockport should be a great location. Here's an option there: https://www.brockport.edu/eclipse/

A lot of people will be at Niagara Falls. https://www.niagarafallsusa.com/2024-solar-eclipse/

There is a golf course and marina in Spencerport hosting a viewing event: https://www.golfatarrowhead.com/

In Rochester I think the high ground at Cobbs Hill Park will be a popular spot. South of Rochester, Mendon Ponds Park would be a great option.

Motels in areas within the path of the eclipse, are getting a bump in reservations for Sun/Mon.

Turning Point would be another good vantage point.
