My grandparents lived in West Seneca (about 5 minutes from West Seneca West HS) for close to 50 years (up until a few years ago). I had no idea that school had any recent athletic success. I would visit them several times a year and often never see an African American my entire time I was in that part of town.

I’m assuming that it is more of a “just enough to know they are there”/it depends on where in the district/a recent thing.

With that said, this former Syracuse University QB went to West Seneca East in the late 80’s/early 90’s: Kevin Mason Gallery | The Trading Card Database (I believe that he lived in a portion of Cheektowaga in the district)

Also, this son of a former Bills RB and relative of a current NFL analyst on ESPN went to West Seneca West: From the classroom, to the city, to the world. Pitt Business Alum finds success in Dubai. | University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business (played Football(DB) at Pitt in the early 2000’s and played QB for West in the late 90’s)
