As for an area with a substantial black middle class, here is some information for the 13224 zip code, which covers the bulk of Syracuse's outer East Side and a portion of the town of DeWitt(Jamesville-DeWitt SD) in terms of the percentage of black households that make $60,000 or more(the zip code is 31.7% black alone(34.7% inc. in combo), with the northern portion(Salt Springs neighborhood) being predominantly black). https://data.census.gov/cedsci/table...SDP5Y2020.DP05
48.2% of black households make $60k or more, with 4.2% making $150k or more. Given the lower cost of living, the percentage goes up higher when you add those that would be considered lower up to straight middle class.
I'll try to do other areas and perhaps at different levels, but for those considering a move Upstate from Downstate or elsewhere, this may be an area to look into.
It is also a zip code with a black educational attainment on par with the national percentage of those 25 and older with at least a Bachelor's degree and a pretty high black family median income.
