Hey, all,
I'm just looking for some cute stores or boutiques anywhere from lower Westchester up to about Poughkeepsie that sell home wares, like dishes, knick knacks, wall hangings, etc. I'm especially looking for ones that are more independent and mid-range priced, that might sell stuff made by local artists. Not super high end and not so catalog-y and not where a plate costs $50 lol.
Website links would be much appreciated.
Also, while you're here. What towns in that area (lower Westchester to Poughkeepsie, on Metro North) are less tony and more rural/hick/outdoorsy/small town. Reason is, I was originally set on moving to Maine, and I might need to compromise and stay in NY for a year or so more, so I'd like to move up there (from UES) to a town with a similar feel, where I plan to rent, and my DBF will be commuting to lower Manhattan, but I will not.
