Have you looked at Yates County? Then you are an hour from Rochester, Syracuse, or Ithaca. The countryside is beautiful and it is a farm rich community.

Please consider Massachusetts and New Hampshire. There is land outside the Rt 495 ring road around Boston that has been put into conservation or farming that might be available. Boston and vicinity have several farmers markets and the demand for "organic" produce is increasing even during the recession. South western Maine should also be investigated.
