32. Police operate with backup within groups, which is why they need larger capacity pistol magazines than do "civilians" who must face criminals alone and therefore need less ammunition.
33. We should ban "Saturday Night Specials" and other inexpensive guns because it's not fair that poor people have access to guns too.
34. Police officers have some special Jedi-like mastery over handguns that private citizens can never hope to obtain.
35. Private citizens don't need a gun for self- protection because the police are there to protect them even though the Supreme Court says the police are not responsible for their protection.
36. Citizens don't need to carry a gun for personal protection but police chiefs, who are desk-bound administrators who work in a building filled with cops, need a gun.
37. "Assault weapons" have no purpose other than to kill large numbers of people. The police need assault weapons. You do not.
38. When Microsoft pressures its distributors to give Microsoft preferential promotion, that's bad; but when the Federal government pressures cities to buy guns only from Smith & Wesson, that's good.
39. Trigger locks do not interfere with the ability to use a gun for defensive purposes, which is why you see police officers with one on their duty weapon.
40. Handgun Control, Inc., says they want to "keep guns out of the wrong hands." Guess what? You have the wrong hands.

no cops should not be the only one's to have guns, then the public would be powerless and over time the government would become more controlling over time.
If stricter gun control actually helped new jersey would have no gun crime, and vermont which has virtually no gun crime has very relaxed gun laws.
face it if everyone had a gun there would be alot less crime, and besides most gun crimes are commited with guns that are illegal to begin with.
even if all guns were banned there would still be gun crime, so stop with the bs, because if this freedom goes more freedoms will soon go.
and no cops are not always there.

Infringement: an encroachment or trespass on a right or privilege
Gun "Laws" at the federal, state, and local levels are unconstitutional restrictions on our freedom plain and simple. The true gun law is the 2nd amendment, end of story, don't like it, amend it the right way.
In no way shape or form should I have to fill out paperwork, pay fees/extortion, get fingerprinted, background check, etc. then wait 6 months or more to maybe own a gun. All these gun laws/rules/policies should be completely abolished. Owning a firearm is not a "privilege" like some claim to be like getting a drivers license. It is a constitutionally guaranteed right. Do I need permission from the government to speak out against our elected officials, oh wait no we have the 1st amendment. Guess what, all the amendments count, not just some.
Also people need to stop being so damn afraid of guns too, people need to become educated in their use and actually fire one. My father taught me to shoot rifles and handguns at a very young age. I do not tremble at the sight or thought of a firearm like many people do. I don't hunt nor do I want to but I will defend myself, my family, and my property if I have to.
I do not have nor require any of these illegitimate overpriced government permission slips to exercize my constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms. If I am illegally arrested for possessing a firearm I will fight to the very end throughout the entire judicial process. My argument, The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed per the 2nd amendment. Pretty simple to me, don't need a legalese degree to understand that one.
NYC does not even recognize the constitution especially with its Mayoral dictatorship and far too many of its Citizens just accept it and get to pay for it with an absurd level of taxation, among other things. There are plenty of people who believe people living in cities should not be able to own a gun. These people are insane. Cities are more densely populated, people live in tighter conditions and aggression is heightened in cities from living so closely to so many people, crime is also higher where there are more people. So, if anything, people living in cities more than anyone else, need to be armed.
Every oppressive government/dictatorship throughout history sought out and disarmed their populations. The 2nd amendment guarantees all others. Please, don't wish to be a slave.
