What's ironic is that the corporate welfare is probably a bigger strain on the people of NY and that still seems to not work in regards to some companies.

Actually, take it one step (or 50 steps) further, and consolidate the entire union and have standard rules and spending throughout the country.

This country is teetering on self-destruction due to financial abuse and over spending on personal levels and on all govt. levels.....last time I checked, our elected "by the people, for the people or we shall perish from the Earth" government is suppose to work FOR us: in the last 100 years, it's turned into working for themselves with special interests and lobbyists stealing our tax dollars to pad their own nests......it has to stop or the United States will not survive...

And taxing non-diet pop aint going to do it David ......

You'll just get hit later and be recovering well after the likes of the Northeast have either swam or sunk....
If you look at past recessions and recoveries after WW2 you will see that high cost and high tax areas (like NYS) go down sooner and deeper and recover slower and later than the parts of the country that are less burdened by the cost of government.

Of course, NYC has always been the exception to nearly everything. But the further you get from NYC, the more this axiom holds.

Yeah, and it's still a better business climate than New York State -- but then you can say that about just about every other state.

Ok that makes sense : 4 of the top dying cities are in Ohio and of the top 10, none are in NYS yet your hyperbole holds? As Informed stated, another NYS hater...move along now

I used to live in Rochester. Tuned in here to see if anything had happened to make the economic climate better in WNY. Answer: not yet.
