Hi, I'm a writer of fiction and am considering placing Champion, NY in my next work. Would appreciate any information on the town: description, life-styles, daily routines, hot spots, any interesting family histories/anecdotes, local events. I appreciate your input and if anything ends up in my work, I'll be sure to thank you in the book as well.
Well I have relatives that live in Champion NY but May I suggest trying a google search for Champion, NY or why not go to a few residencial individuals and ask them for their input and what they think of living in Champion, and why they shose Champion as there place of residency. These are just a few suggestions but a local library usually has information on places such as champion,Boonville and many more places. Good luck!
Champion is a town (and small village) on the road between Carthage and Watertown. The village of West Carthage is on its eastern edge. There aren't any 'hot spots' there, unfortunately. My cousin lives there and I grew up near there (Philadelphia, NY).
I live in Champion "huddle" NY. My family-both sides have lived here for over 100 years. My mothers parents had a farm here-which is still family owned by my 2 uncles. My mother was the oldest of 19. Two died at a very young age , my mom passed away 3 years ago this coming Christmas. Both families are decendents of Irish immigrents, who settled here to farm.Except for my Dad's grandfather - who used to drive moonshine from here to NYC. The huddle is made up of mostly farms. If you'd like more information-please email me at carolg_13619@yahoo.com.
