Hi All-

Curious, what is this town and the surrounding areas like w/in a 25 mile radius. Any shopping like Target around there? Is it safe? Is there any culture around there? Thanks

Very, very rural. Closest town of any decent size is Delhi, which has a SUNY campus. Walton, Sidney, Cooperstown and Oneonta(the closest "city", I think) are pretty close too. I think Cobleskill, which along with Oneonta has a SUNY campus is pretty close too.

Here's information on the community://www.city-data.com/city/Hobart-New-York.html

it's fairly rural, but very scenic - within that distance you can be within distance to 4 of the finger lakes and some decent sized towns like canandaigua

you'll be within an hour of rochester

there are also some outlet malls that are pretty close

there is a wallmart in geneva as well (where hobart is located)

it's a fairly nice little campus - good lacrosse team and some decent parties - i tagged along to a couple with some friends who were at keuka college

=================

d'oh - disregard the above - i'll leave it up incase anyone is asking about the school

I saw hobart in the title and read about the SUNY schools and "jumped to conclusions"

hobart the town is completely different and is way out in the sticks
