mom2gurls - did you get a response to this question? I am moving from Minnesota to NJ / NY. Since our Minnesota house has not sold, we are looking to rent and haven't figured out which side of the border (NY / NJ) yet. We looked at a house in Mansion Ridge and thought this might be a good place to start out with a rental townhome until we can buy. Any thoughts?
Brigadoon is a community of single-family homes. Homes that were once priced in the 600's, you can now get in the 400's (or $399K, which is what mine is listed at). It's a great community....has a community pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, playground, and fitness center. Living in the Town of Woodbury, you get "exclusive to residents" use of the Town Lake ("The Rez") and Town Pool ("The Pond").
Woodbury Junction is a gated community in Central Valley (also part of the Town of Woodbury). I would be hesitant to buy there because building is at a standstill with maybe only a few occupied homes, A LOT of unfinished homes, and piles of dirt from construction vehicles that are no longer building.
<< Looking to possibly rent in Mansion Ridge a condo/townhome, until we figure out what county we prefer (orange or rockland).
Looked at some of them in rockland, yet they are sooo narrow. Heard things about Mansion Ridge.
Any thoughts or comments on Mansion Ridge in general? Any other condo developments to look at.
Staying Near Metro North is a must (harriman station). Monroe is the farthest north we can go.
Yes..really WAS interested in woodbury junction..but they have been planning (for what seems like YEARS) and nothing is happening. We have to commute to jersey city...which isnt fun. I "heard" brigadoon has sewer problems and issues and the area/community itself isnt as nice as it used to be.
Funny because it looks lovely from the outside..but I have heard from friends, the "rif raf" has moved in.
What are the new home developments in the monroe-woodbury district. That is the only one we will consider.
