That was filmed in the blueridge mountains in the far west of the state. Very beautiful area indeed; but not not what most of NC looks like. Cheese is right, the "piedmont" as its called, is much more tall pines with no real lakes vs. most of upstate NY has many natural lakes and waterways with mostly deciduous trees.
Upstate is just like Ohio but with a second great lake, some finger lakes, waterfalls, hills and mountains, higher taxes, more snow, and slightly more disappointing pro sports teams.
Talking about upstate New York, I wanted to know if anyone can tell me about how harsh the winters are. I am thinking of moving to Norwood, NY which is close to Potsdam. I know it must be beautiful during the summer, spring, and fall but the winters worry me. I currently live in the Rochester area, so I have an idea about heavy snowfall.
Can anyone give me an idea about how cold the temperature gets and the amount of snowfall during the winter? Thank you so much!
Have to ask...............are you moving there as a single person or as a family? Not much to do, really small place and really cold in winter........can get stats, but it's pretty desolate in the winter. I couldn't do it as a single person.....maybe as a family, but even then I don't know. If it is because of the college in Potsdam, though, you will make friends from there........
rotflmao I thoroughly enjoyed reading through everyone's post on this thread. I wish I had something to add... but I think I'll have to wait another year for it.
