Coach says that as of June 1, "due to increase costs and decreasing ridership", it will increase fares and cut service on Rockland Coaches, mainly on weekends. That means higher commute fares and weekend service every two hours instread of every hour. I would love to see their surveys and line-item budget. And to have routes such as the 11A and 11C (both from Spring Valley), to Port Authority and GWBridge respectively, run every two hours can lead to a disastourous overcrowded situation.

I wish that Coach could have compromised, keeping the 11A intact at one hour (much of that route, to the PA, is always almost full), while having the 11C to the GWB at two-hour intervals (I'll admit, that route is empty on weekends).

It's all about money. The price of fuel is going back up. The state is cutting back on subsidies which most transit systems in NY do receive. People have no money because the economy is in the toilet still. Combine all those factors and you have a company that needs to make changes in order to stay in business.
