Hi everyone, I was wondering whether I will be able to find an inexpensive apartment in Cold Spring.
Currently I live in NYC but just got laid off. To save $$ I began looking for upstate cities as a possible alternative. I have heard good things about Cold Spring and figured it would not be as expensive as NYC. But when I searched for apartments online, they were all very expensive.
I was kinda hoping that I could get a studio or 1br apartment there for $600-800. Is that doable?
If not, is there another upstate city I can consider? For me, there are three more important factors to consider: 1, I don't have a car, so I need to live in a city reachable by the Metro train, and can at least get food within walking distance. 2, money, as described above. 3, safety, for I am a single woman.
I don't have kids, so schools is not a consideration.
Thank you sooo much, I hope to hear some good advice.
