My wife and I currently live and work in Rockland. We own a condo that looks like (keeping fingers crossed) it will be going to contract and will be sold within the next couple of months. We are looking to buy either a house or townhouse in Orange. While the complete privacy of a private house appeals to us, the drawbacks of additional costs and maintenance over a townhouse are a concern. We have looked at a couple of homes in Kings Estate in Warwick and really fell in love with everything we saw. I do have a concern with living near the high tension wires that run through the complex from both a health and resale value standpoint. We are scheduled to look at a few townhouses in Whispering Hills, however, I am concerned based on the thread I found in this forum regarding the structural quality of the buildings as well as problems with cable television service. Uninterrupted cable/Internet service is vital for us as we will both often be working from home. Of course, structural integrity is also very high on our list for obvious reasons. Are there any other townhouses no further north than Warwick/Chester? Further south is preferable. We are not working with a huge budget as all of our money is tied up in our current home and we will be coordinating our sale and purchase so we can move from one location to the other in the same day. Staying somewhere else, with family or renting is not a realistic option for us. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
