Someone look closely and you will find a near-identical thread from last year. You know what? I received by return about 6 weeks after submitting the paperwork.

I doubt that there is any plan to hold returns until midway through the year.

Is there precedent for such speculation?

Got mine by direct deposit today, e-filed around 5 weeks ago. You can go to the NYS tax website and plug in your details to the status of your refund.

But to the OPs point, New York does not look too good financially...

it doesn't appear that NY has a direct deposit schedule like the Feds do........

I got my return about 3-4 weeks after I e-filed

ok, so maybe it is not an issue. A buddy of mine who lives over there says it has been 3-4 weeks and not check and that patterson is spending the state blind....pun intended.

You can prevent this from happening. Just increase your state dependents and owe them this year. If they are holding onto checks interest free the heck with them.

Thanks for your post...I thought I was losing my mind for a second there. This has happened many times over the past few years and frankly I'm surprised that everyone is...surprised!!
At least it's not like Ca last year that just gave their citizens an IOU! LOL
