Nissan Xterra Discontinued in U.S. | Edmunds.com

i mentioned this elsewhere but i figured it needed its own thread. after 2015, nissan is discontinuing the Xterra. i know several guys who own one and they swear by it. bummer. i was trying to decide between an xterra and a frontier. if only nissan left it alone and improved the gas mileage im sure it would have done better.

Nissan decided this along time ago when you consider that it has been at least 10 years since it had a major overhaul. I know people who love theirs but always complain of really poor gas mileage. That is the one reason why I never bought one. If they had kept it updated and put a fuel efficient engine in it, it would still be selling good.

I liked the Xterra. Too bad they didn't up the gas mileage a little. Would've sold much better!

I drive a 4Runner but I've known so many people who have just held on to xterras racked up super high mileage and they just keep going and going. I'm disappointed to read it's being discountinued. The current model 4Runner is alot more luxurious vehicle than I would really put to good use and I was thinking of goingthe xterra route when the day came to replace my vehicle (now that the FJ is discontinued also).

*sigh* I will probably end up buying used now.

I haven’t seen a new one in years. Thought they dropped it a long time ago.

The Xterra is built in the US. The plant is in Mississippi. If it goes away here it is done.

Why do that when they still have the Armada to play with and the Pathfinder as well? Time to trim the fat.

My sister had an '06 X that was a pile of junk, enough to trade for a Volkswagen. Yikes.

Same, I was shocked to see they still had NEW ones on the lot at my dealer when I bought a Rogue a couple weeks ago.
