I'm looking at two Maxima's both are automatics. I've owned enough manuals and want to lay off for a bit.

The SE-L is almost like the GLE just a bit more sporty ie: 5-spoke rims, spoiler, white face gauges. The SE is a Sandstone color with a tan leather interior.

The GLE is maroon and features a black leather interior with wood accents. This car doesn't have the spoiler, nor does it have the 5-spoke rims. The interior is very nice looking I like it better then the SE but I like the SE rims and body color better.

Any opinions about either trim level?

Josh, have you driven either of them yet?

You may find that the Maxima GLE will have a much more soft and pleasant ride over the sporty SE.

My aunts 2001 Altima SE has a very harsh and jiggly ride. I have ride in a GXE and it was much better.

The SE Maxima may not be as harsh though.

The SE has minor suspension and tire differences that make it a bit more harsh. I have a '98 and would rather have the GLE.

Thanks guys. I've driven a 98 Gle and 99 SE and I noticed minor driving differences. Just mainly interior and smaller tires and different rims on the GLE. I like the sportiness of the SE with the 5-spoke rims and Spoiler but love the interior of the GLE, I wish I could have both!
