You are comparing apples to oranges. Compare apples to apples. The Sentra is a smaller and lighter car to begin with. The Spec V is the top model Sentra, so it is only fair to compare it with the 270 horsepower V6 Altima Coupe, not the base model. There is no comparison, the Altima blows the doors off the Sentra.
hard to say they are way diffrent cars the sentra is the size of a civic and the altima is the size of an accord so it comes down to more than just horsepower but if it's just raw power the altima comes with a 3.5 liter V6 with 270HP I would go with the atlima coupe with the 3.5 and 6-speed manual tranny for most fun to drive.

I think you're the one comparing apples to oranges
In terms of price, the two Spec V and Altima Coupe are within about $1500 of each other. They even have the same engine (although the Spec V actually has some upgrades to it to give it more power). If the Sentra is lighter then it should be faster too.
I'm looking to spend under 20k.... and the two options I mentioned will allow me to do that. A V6 Altima would be about $27,000!
To clarify, I'm talking about the Altima Coupe 2.5S, which has the same 2.5L engine as Spec V. Altima Coupe and Spec V weigh about the same (a little north of 3000 lbs)
do you need lots of space to haul things or just looking for a sporty car?
the lighter car with more HP will always be more fun to drive and faster than it's heavier counterpart if that what you are going for
Just looking for a sporty car. I actually have a Sentra SR that I use for hauling stuff around, I like it a lot, but I bought it for my wife since it has automatic tranny.
From what I've read... Spec V 0-60 is a little bit faster, and its a little bit cheaper. Do you guys know of any benefits the Altima Coupe would offer?

best bet is to test drive them side by side and compare which one you like the best to drive the only upside to the altima would be it's extra interior space

No, you are comparing the top model Sentra to the lowest model Altima which is unfair. Of course the spec v Sentra will outperform the base model Altima Coupe. If price is your concern, go with the spec V Sentra.

Okay, I'm going to buy a base model Ferarri so I don't waste money on the top level Sentra
