Clevergirl, I think Coach Nix is related to my mom!
All I can say is, I was as mad as a hornet when it happened, but in hindsight, it was a great teaching tool. And I really do credit Coach Nix with my safe driving record .
I learned about work ethics, relationships, and behavior.
I am still very close friends with several of my high school classmates.
1. Showing respect, earns you respect in return--and a few references.
2. Volunteer and speak up! Everyone is afraid of making mistakes.
3. When you try your hardest and fail, you can still be proud of your progress and efforts. (Sports)
4. You are the only one who can make a name for yourself: make your presence known.
5. Knowledge and good references can open many doors.
6. Many people are waiting to seize the same opportunity: the early bird really does get the worm.
7. Progress requires a goal, a purpose, and direction.
8. Deadlines are important.
9. Outlines can be really helpful.
10. Typing should be learned prior to high school.
11. Always take responsibility and credit for your actions or mistakes.
12. Any situation is better when handled with maturity. Sincere apologies are powerful.
13. Sometimes you have to "suck it up" and move on. It's okay to let go. 14. Experience can be painful, but beneficial. Live and learn. Painful lessons are never forgotten.
15. Some people are your true friends and some people have ulterior motives.
16. We don't always get everything that we thought we wanted and that can be a very good thing.
17. Some teachers and guidance counselors are wise and others are not. You get good and bad advice,
but which you follow is up to you.

i learned that you have to look thru your own eyes,,not be the reflection of how others see you- cliques, like someone said dont mean anything....dont be self-critical,,
make people laugh, even if you are a clown,,laughter is great medicine
dont be arrogant, drop the attitude.....be considerate of others

A semester C in 9th-grade math (my fault) came back and bit me during my senior year. No "big"-dance invite for me. Of course, it's long since not mattered, but what I've learned from the experience still does.
